Aquatic Resources

The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea states the rights to explore, develop, preserve and manage aquatic and other resources within the defined EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone). Kaiyo Engineering operates vessels equipped with the state-of-the-art fish detector for acoustically finding fish and visualizing them as image. The detector is also capable of providing estimated amounts of fish. The vessels are also equipped with a net pulling winch for conducting fish catch research by trawling.

In recent years, recording the ecology of the eel and other endangered species and the alfonsin and other rare species on an optical camera from a ROV is being studied for establishing technologies for stable marine cultivation.
